people mountain people sea

Wow Costco is popular here.  And probably the first quirky thing I thought when we arrived there was that there's TONS of scooters parked in the parkade.  It makes me wonder what they can buy in bulk and bring back home on a scooter.

When we arrived and walked inside it was literally chock-a-block full of people pushing giant shopping carts around.  It almost felt like we were on the roads (with the way people cut in and out of traffic randomly) except we were going only a few paces per minute.  "people mountain people sea" is a Taiwanese saying that means... well what you think it means.  People everywhere!

I don't have any pics of the Costco because the building itself was not interesting and it looked pretty much like Costco in Canada, so here's some photos of the drive and from picking up Niki's friend who came with us.
