We then went ikeburoko to meet his mother for lunch. Wow we were spoiled. The restaurant was on the 25th floor of a hotel overlooking Tokyo. The view was spectacular and the food was amazing. We started with a sashimi salad, then had this pasta dish, followed up with a melt in your mouth peppercorn steak. So good! And the whole meal was accompanied by a really nice bread with olive oil for a dip. Kouichi's mom was really sweet and we had a nice slow lunch chatting and enjoying the company.
After lunch we went to the subway to meet chieko at the rail station right by her house in east Nagasaki. Her town was a really neat little town that looked like it was taken from a set of mr.rogers. We really enjoyed walking the streets on the 5 min walk to chieko's house. The house was much bigger than expected. The inside was furnashed like a typical Japanese house with tatami rooms and small furniture.

Getting to know chieko over diner at a local pub was a lot of fun. She is a funny and generous lady. The pub was also very neat. It had little tatami type rooms and Japanese cloths hanging from the roof. I ordered my first sake in japan and went it was brought to the table the waitress put a box shaped cup on the table and then put a large shot glass inside of it. She then commenced to pour sake into the shot glass until it overflowed and filled both the shot glass and the box precisely to the top without spilling. Definitely a professional pourer!
In addition to the sake we had many other foods including baked fish, croquteetes, noodle pizza, chicken knee, and fish salad.
After dinner we left some luggage at her house and took the train back to Shibuya to get some rest for the train to Nagoya in the morning.
